Fidgits are minor characters featured in Red Dead Revolver.

A Fidgit is unlocked as a playable character in Showdown Mode by either completing the level "Carnival Life" on Bounty Hunter Mode or by purchasing the Napoleon statue from the General Store in Brimstone after completing "Freak Show". He is the shortest character available in the mode and uses a Six-Shooter and Sawed-off Shotgun as a weapon. For his special ability, he gets dynamites which can turn into cards and explode when collected.

History

Background

These scary-looking clowns (nicknamed Fidgits) are dwarf clowns who are part of Professor Perry's Potions & Peculiarities. According to rumor, these Fidgits are the off-spring of Pig Josh and an unknown Bat Lady of Perry's circus. One night, the Bat Lady mysteriously disappeared, resulting in the Fidgits growing up under Professor Perry's care. These children were dressed up as clowns and made a part of the crew.

Events of Red Dead Revolver

In the mission "Carnival Life", Red Harlow, going after Pig Josh's bounty, fights waves of Fidgits throughout the fairgrounds. He is helped by Jack Swift, and the two of them are able to kill a bunch of the Fidgits before being confronted by Pig Josh himself.

In the subsequent mission "Freak Show", Jack Swift, going after Professor Perry himself, is also confronted by waves of Fidgits. Jack kills clown after clown in Widow's Patch before ultimately killing Professor Perry.

Sheriff Bartlett's Journal

Fidgit is listed in Sheriff Bartlett's Journal on pages 104 - 105 under the Professor Perry's Peculiarities section. The pages are unlocked by unlocking the showdown character by either completing the "Carnival Life" on Bounty Hunter mode or buying the Napoleon statue for $666. The journal entry is titled "The Clowns" while the showdown character is labeled as "Fidgit", as it is only one clown.

Trivia

• The Fidgits are briefly mentioned in campfire segments in Red Dead Redemption, along with Pig Josh.^[1][2]
• Due to their relatively small size, they can be very difficult to see when fighting, and players may find themselves spending a good deal of time wandering the Fairgrounds looking for the last Fidgit to kill in order to progress through the level. It is advisable to listen closely to the jingling bells that are heard when they walk to find him.
• Sometimes when fighting the Fidgits and when they are taunting or winning in Showdown Mode, odd sounds can be heard in the background. These include a slide whistle and a drum roll.
• When Fidgit walks and runs jingling bells in his boots can be heard.
• As shown at 1:28 minute mark of this video, the Fidgits were originally a normal size.
• In the prototype version of the game, Fidgits did not exist and Pig Josh's goons were replaced with short, bird-looking people in top hats who could fly around, using their wings. They were obviously replaced by Fidgits so not to break the player's suspension of disbelief.
• Fidgit's recolored Showdown models will have him colored in a black and white outfit with blue pants and a blue nose, yellow-white stripped outfit with white pants and more makeup than usual and a dark purple-looking outfit with orange pants and purple hair.
• The fact that Fidgit can be unlocked when purchasing the statue of Napoleon is a reference to the myth of Napoleon being very short in size.
• Fidgits are adults or at least in their adolescent years as upon closer inspection, the original Fidgit is seen to have a small goatee under his makeup.
  • Still, they are considered one of the youngest characters in the game, along with Billy Cougar and Natalie Kelley.
  • Fidgit shares the same voice actor as Natalie and Annie Stoakes surprisingly, but Carrie Keranen's voice was high-pitched by the production team to distinguish the characters.
• Fidgit could be named after the same named character from the movie Time Bandits portrayed by Kenny Baker. In the movie, Fidgit was a member of a group of dwarfs, similar to the clowns in the game.
