Standing Snake is a minor character in Red Dead Revolver.

Standing Snake is available to play in Showdown Mode if the player purchases the Arrowhead during the opening sequence in the mission "End of the Line". He uses a bow and arrow plus Pacificador as his primary weapons. His special ability makes him lace his arrows with Snake Oil.

History

Background

Standing Snake is a high-ranking member of the Black Elk Tribe. According to Sheriff Bartlett's Journal, Standing Snake took control of half the tribe during their alliance with General Diego, while Grizzly took the other half. He and his warriors are in charge of guarding the canyon near Bear Mountain.

Events of Red Dead Revolver

After getting freed from the Bear Mountain mine by Shadow Wolf, along with Red Harlow, Buffalo Soldier will take on many of Standing's warriors during the mission "Hell Pass", where they attempt to stop him from escaping the canyon. Once the mission is completed, the player will receive a bounty reward for Standing Snake, despite him never actually having been killed in that mission or appearing.

Instead, Standing Snake's model makes an appearance several times as a henchmen of Bad Bessie during the mission "Rogue Valley", including when Red approaches Bessie's shack for the boss fight.

Standing Snake is listed in Sheriff Bartlett's Journal under the Outlaws in Twelve States section. His pages can be unlocked once the player has purchased the Arrowhead, which also unlocks his model in Showdown.

Trivia

• His special ability in multiplayer gets his arrows indulged in Snake Oil, similar to how his ally Grizzly gets his claws indulged with said oil.
  • According to Bartlett's Journal, the Black Elks bought some Snake oil from Prof. Perry.
