History
Background
Norbert is a man who the player might find in the wilderness. He has a friend named Wallace and is also acquainted with the Valentine gunsmith.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2
In the wilderness, Norbert can be heard calling for help. He informs the player that his leg was just bitten by a snake. The player can help him by either giving him a health cure or sucking the venom from the bite. If the latter option is chosen, the protagonist asks Norbert not to tell anyone about how he was cured.
If the player decided to help Norbert, he will later be encountered sitting outside of the gunsmith in Valentine, talking to his friend Wallace. When he sees the protagonist, he tells Wallace that they are the one who saved his life. If the player cured him by sucking the venom out, Norman mentions this, to the protagonist's chagrin. To thank the player for saving his life, Norbert offers to buy anything the protagonist wants on his tab from the gun store, enabling the player to obtain a free item. If Norbert is saved but gets attacked afterwards, he will not be encountered in Valentine.
