History

Background

Nils is a Norwegian toolmaker that immigrated to the United States and resided in Manzanita Post sometime prior to 1898.

Events of Red Dead Redemption 2

Nils is asked to make a set of tools for John Marston, in order for him to construct a ranch at Beecher's Hope. When John and Wayne arrive, Nils puts the tools on the back of the wagon. Despite being highly skilled in metalwork, Nils apparently speaks very little English, with his vocabulary restricted to "okay".

Trivia

• The cabin adjacent to where he works in Manzanita Post presumably belongs to him. A newspaper scap and journal page, both in Norwegian, can be found inside it in Red Dead Redemption 2. The cabin can be purchased in Red Dead Redemption as a safehouse by Marston.
• The actor who voices Nils also voices Cletus Ewing from fellow Rockstar game Grand Theft Auto V.
