The Mended Map (or Torn Treasure Map) is a treasure map in Red Dead Redemption 2.
While the map can be completed during Chapter 2, the treasure cannot be collected until after completing Epilogue 1 (without the use of glitches).
Location
First Map
The first half of the map ("Torn Treasure Map 1") can be found in the cabin of the Hermit Woman near the source of Little Creek River. The woman and her 3 dogs will become hostile and the player will have to kill or hogtie the woman and kill or avoid the dogs to get into the cabin and take the map from the drawer. The player can also take woman's Double-Barreled Shotgun.
Second Map
The first half of the map will point the player to the Manito Glade residence in Roanoke Ridge (see the first picture in the Gallery), where the second and last half can be found. The hostile Hermit man will be encountered and the player will have to kill or hogtie him to get the map from inside the house. The player can also take his unique Rare Shotgun for themself.
Treasure
The map will lead the player to the northern edge of Cholla Springs to the west of Twin Rocks (see the second picture in the Gallery). The treasure is Otis Miller's Revolver.
Trivia
- It is the only treasure in the game that can be obtained without actually having collected the maps.
- The player will receive the first half of the map regardless of whether they find the Hermit woman or the Hermit man first. If they visit the Hermit man first (as in the video below), it will be confusing since the torn map will point to the very place where it was just found, and there will still be no clues about the location of the second half of the map or the treasure.
- When the player finds the second half of the map, Torn Treasure Map 1 disappears from their inventory, but they receive Torn Treasure Map 2 and the Mended Map, and for some reason will keep the second half of the map alongside the mended map among their documents.
- For unknown reason, finding the maps or the treasure of this treasure hunt does not count towards any of the Explorer Challenges.
